Tips To Maintain Hair For Longevity
General Care
One of the most important things about hair extensions is that you have to be VERY gentle. When you are brushing or combing your hair, please take your time. Without proper treatment, your hair extensions will get damaged quickly.
Co-washing our hair extensions is highly recommended before install to keep the hair soft and manageable.
What Products Should I Use?
Light and Natural products. Mind you this is Human hair so treat it as if you grew it out your scalp!
- 1. Co-wash hair regularly.
- 2. Detangle hair gently before washing. Do not rub or twist hair.
- 3. Only use mild shampoo to clean once monthly. Rinse thoroughly. Then condition hair for 3-5 minutes and rinse with cool water.
- 4. Blot out excess water with a towel and allow hair to AIR DRY.
- 5. Brush straighter hair in a downward motion, starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots.
- 6. Hair may tangle if care directions are not followed properly.
Silicon Mix is NOT recommended for our hair. DO NOT USE!
Curly Hair Care
Curly hair requires time and patience. If you don't have time to care for this hair, we do not recommend buying it. Choose body wave or straight hair instead.
Deeper wave textures need more maintenance than body wave or straight hair. You'll need a great routine in place to keep the hair from tangling, frizzing, and matting.
- Get an empty spray bottle, fill it with water, and add just a little conditioner (about 1 small pump).
- Condition curly hair twice weekly. (No exceptions.)
- When shampooing, make sure your hair is not bunched up or piled on top of your head. Wash vertically in one direction only.
- Use a Denman brush gently to brush the hair from tip to root. DO NOT BRUSH HARD.
- Be mindful that dying and bleaching curly hair extensions will loosen the curl pattern permanently.
Heat Styling
When applying heat, please use a heat protectant to protect your hair. Straightening your hair on extreme high heat can cause unrepairable damage. We highly recommend an ionic dryer, as they won't damage the hair. Also, use good quality straightening irons and curling rods. We recommend air drying your hair extensions.
Swimming & Exercise
Wash the hair immediately after swimming! When dirt and sweat accumulate, hair mattes, tangles, and becomes unmanageable. Be sure to always wear a swim cap, if possible. Carefully comb out any tangles starting from the bottom and working your way up.
Braid the hair in two braids to ensure that all of the hair is protected and tucked neatly under the cap. After swimming, co-wash your hair immediately to remove any damaging chemicals that may have snuck under your cap.
NEVER SLEEP ON WET HAIR.
Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed. It is also recommended to wrap your hair together or gently tie it up to prevent tangling.
Handle with Care
Before washing a lace closure/frontal, gently remove hair knots and tangles with your fingers. Then, gently brush through the lace product hair with a soft bristle brush or comb it through with a wide-tooth comb. Avoid yanking or pulling on your lace products, as this may cause hair to fall out or cause hair strands to become loose.
Lace Care
Lace wigs or lace products lifespan depends on how we care for them. Our lace products can be co-washed using any gentle organic conditioner. However, be very light handed when washing due to this product being VERY delicate. Incorrect bleaching will cause lace balding/shedding. To minimize shedding, please seal the knots with a holding spray.
Lace products require maintenance. We are not responsible for lace balding due to incorrect bleaching and poor maintenance. We will not exchange or refund wigs, closures, or frontals due to incorrect care that causes shedding or balding. Lace products will last 3-4 installs with proper maintenance.
